(Apologies if the picture is too big, I'm on mobile)

Daft Punk's fourth album turns four, and what an album it is. Radio friendly songs like Get Lucky and some absolute classics like Lose Yourself to Dance and Instant Crush. What a great album y'all, as a recent fan. It might not have been as experimental with the beats as Discovery but their vocal work and features has never been better.

What are your favorite songs off their last full album?

Four? Wow, feels like yesterday.

My favourite tracks (in no order):

Instant Crush
Touch
Get Lucky
Lose Yourself To Dance

I'm really glad they experimented with this album. I like seeing artists go in new directions.

Edit: What the fuck. I forgot Giorgio by Moroder.

Four years? Wow. Doesn't seem that long.

It's hard to pick favorites, mostly because I don't know the names of half the songs on there (lol), and I tend to always listen to the whole album start to finish.

I remember when they won the Grammy and how pissed Taylor Swift fans were.

I skip around when I go back to it but still a good ass album. Nile Rodgers crushes everything he's on and the production is pristine. Give Life Back to Music, Instant Crush, Fragments of Time all up there for me.

Man, what an album! my favorites are definitely instant crush, Within and motherboard, but the rest are really (really) good too. Funny thing is, when it came out, i got so tired of hearing the vocals of Get Lucky in a loop basically everywhere, that it almost prevented from hearing the rest. but after giving the whole thing a good listen, that would have been a terrible mistake. Hell the intro part of Give life back to music was enough to change my mind.

When I was fifteen, sixteen, when I really started to play the guitar
I definitely wanted to become a musician
It was almost impossible because the dream was so big
I didn't see any chance because I was living in a little town; I was studying
And when I finally broke away from school and became a musician
I thought, "Well, now I may have a little bit of a chance,"
Because all I really wanted to do is music – and not only play music
But compose music
At that time, in Germany, in '69-'70, they had already discotheques
So, I would take my car
Would go to a discotheque and sing maybe 30 minutes
I think I had about seven, eight songs
I would partially sleep in the car
Because I didn't want to drive home and that helped me for about
Almost two years to survive in the beginning
I wanted to do an album with the sound of the '50s, the sound of the '60s, of the '70s
And then have a sound of the future
And I said, "Wait a second...
I know the synthesizer – why don't I use the synthesizer which is the sound of the future?"
And I didn't have any idea what to do
But I knew I needed a click so we put a click on the 24 track which then was synched to the Moog Modular
I knew that it could be a sound of the future
But I didn't realise how much the impact would be
My name is Giovanni Giorgio
But everybody calls me Giorgio

Still an all time favorite for me. It's just one of those albums I can listen to over and over all the way through. Discovery is still probably my overall favorite of theirs, but RAM has that similar achingly sincere sense of fun and wonder that Human After All lacked.

I like that they sample and play their own instruments and create their own sounds instead of copying other people tracks. The production quality of this album is still top notch.
