I've listened to it around 50 times. Hard to get tired of it and I enjoy all the songs.

Thread reminds me I've yet to listen to Tron Legacy OST so maybe I'll track that down for some new Daft I haven't heard before.

I was beyond stoked for this album. Maybe I had some massively unrealistic expectations because I thought it was a huge let down. It grew on me over the years, though. Thought it was garbage at first but I kind of enjoy it now.

Favorite track is Doin' it Right, by far. Instant Crush is great, too.

Doesn't seem to hold up as well for me despite having really enjoyed it when it dropped. I'll give it a spin for the anniversary.

Would be there Day 0 for a tour.

It's a really good album, I think Discovery and Homework are better by a wide margin. Four years later I would say the Georgio monologue grates, the track is still great.

I was initially a bit disappointed with the change of sound, but it quickly grew on me. It's as much of a classic as Discovery imho.

Just because lists are stupid and I am stupid:

1. Discovery
2. Random Access Memories
3. Human After All (fight me)
4. Homework
5. Alive 2007
6. TRON: Legacy OST

I don't like every song there, but it's definitely a strong album. Giorgio by Moroder is my favorite of the bunch. It's pretty much tied with discovery for the best Daft Punk album, at least it's much better than the mediocre Human After All.
I remember people dismissing this album as "a good album, but not a Daft Punk album", ha. Wouldn't be surprised if they thought the same about Discovery, compared to Homework.

Other than a few songs, things felt way to mathematically precise. Which, hey, if that's their intention, they succeeded, but it didn't impact me as much

Thought this album was pretty lame actually aside from Doin it Right.
But then again I'm not the best to listen to when it comes to Daft Punk. I think Human After All is their best studio album and I know that's blasphemy.

However ALIVE 2007 is the best live album I've ever heard and probably my top 10 of all time.

Daft Punk is too soft for my liking I think which is why ALIVE 2007 is my favorite (which contains even heavier versions of Human After All)

Giorgio by Moroder and Touch are my go-to speaker/headphone test songs. The production on this entire record is just fucking stunning from a technical standpoint, which makes sense because they spent SO MUCH FUCKING MONEY to record it. The funniest thing I've heard about the production is that they had Moroder record his monologue in a booth with three different vintage microphones in it just so they could A/B test the vocal tone between the three and get the perfect one. Just insane stuff.

Sees people showing lots of love to Touch, calling it their "go-to" Daft Punk track.
Don't remember that track specifically so I hit up Spotify... track easily the most forgettable and random song on the album. How you could GO TO that track out of their whole catalogue is literally beyond me

So i close Spotify and continue to be stupified by GAF musical choices

In the beginning, I wanted to do a album with the sound of the 50s,
The sound of the 60s, of the 70s and then have a sound of the future
And I said: "Wait a second
I know the synthesizer, why don't I use the synthesizer
Which is the sound of the future"

And I didn't have any idea what to do but I knew I needed a click
So we put a click on the 24 track which was then synch to the moog modular
I knew that it could be a sound of the future
But I didn't realize how much impact it would be

My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio

I don't think highlighting the fact that their new sound, which brings in lots of dough, is equal to calling them "sellouts" which wasn't a word I used. Everyone's entitled to be disappointed in a band's direction that may deviate from their origins.

They have always had disco leanings throughout their career, and this fact makes me not consider them sellouts. But when they double down on the disco and gain new followers (= more money), I have the right to be disappointed that they don't focus much on their french house/techno beginnings anymore.

i go back to it from time to time but it still doesn't do it for me. i can hardly remember any of the tracks. and it's too much of an indie pop album than dance music.

for me, it's still all about homework and discovery

after all these years, i'm still annoyed they broke their thing of using the daft punk logo for album cover. should've made a glittery version to match those jackets they wear. on the other hand, they've put their robot helmets front and centre, the things they made up so that their personalities wouldn't detract from their work. ironic, hypocritical....
in other words, one of my fave music acts jumped the shark

Shit album.

Maybe 4 good songs at a push.

Homework, discovery and Human after all ate leagues above it, so much so it's like listening to different artists.

Never been so disappointed in an album as I was this.
