Bleh most recommended place to eat here are the Japanese equivalent of Taco Bell.. Or not even local.

Go to random bbq, family style or ramen restaurant and enjoy.

Or you can go to *that* restaurant, pick the girl you like, tell her what to eat for the next 4 days, come back after said 4 days and....profit. Or not.

They're okay but the sauces and flavours they come up with are sometimes a sin.

They might be less helpful if you're reporting a crime instead of asking for help though. Especially if it's something to do with anything you've done in Kabukicho :P

Oh, that attraction is gone. They've replaced it with an VR living doll one ;P

Edit: It might actually be the same thing, now just with VR glasses. Didn't try the old one, just the new one.

Nah. Going in October. Never going back during the summer.

Couple of food recommendations:

Check out Gyukatsu Motomura. Best fucking meal I had there.

Try CoCo Curry. Good curry chain. Plenty of branches throughout the city.

Try Mister Donut if you see one. Another chain place. Get the donut in the picture here:

I understand your question, because you are just here for business and have no plans.
Tokyo has extremely good food, that's the best motivation.
And yeah, getting lost in Tokyo is fun as hell, everywhere's beautiful as long as you are not seeing the working crowd.
Personally, I like checking out the google map for a random park nearby, and just walk there and see what I find along the way. Today's a great weather.

By the way it might rain tonight, so be careful.

To the OP, go to Shibuya, the Dogenzaka area to be precise. Will give you a good slice of Tokyo daily life, and you'll be near Shibuya Station if you want to go to other places. Check out the Hachiko statue. There's also a million Japanese restaurants in that area if you want to get authentic street food or sushi, whatever. I ate at a good ramen shop near Shibuya Mark City. Tokyo Wine Club Raku is also a really chill place for a late dinner of sashimi, wine, stew, and prosciutto. Some of the chefs speak English and will chat with you; really nice guys. You're not doing Japan justice if you don't have a drink and a good meal at an Izakaya.

Ate a delicious breakfast in Shibuya surrounded by people with small dogs, then chilled in a book store. Hachiko statue visited and pictures taken. Ended up talking to an elderly gentleman for a long while. Learned a few words in the process. Marveled at Japanese grocery store. Headed to Akihabara now.

Also it's raining now.

I just got home from there!

Go to the Tokyo Sky Tower at night and realize just how fucking big that city is, and how small every city you've been to really is compared to it.

Go to Shibuya and go shopping on a weekend night.

If you have time, head to Kyoto or Osaki and see the old wordly shrines and parks.

The buddist temple in Kyoto was one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.

See, I didn't find the local food all that good other than the ramen. I was disappointed in the sushi and curry.

I spent time in SK too, and the food there is fantastic.

Go to Akihbara and buy beer from a vending machine and buy large amounts of Hentai from almost every single store.

Havn't had any ramen, sushi, or curry yet. Everything has been delicious (though some things more expensive than they should be).

I didn't visit any of those places. Knew I was forgetting some kind of food to try while I was there.

Go check out the red light district in Ueno :D

I had no idea that was the RLD when I booked the hotel there. We get off the train, walk toward the hotel and got surrounded by japanese guys in suits asking if we wanted "sexy massages" while making jerk off motions toward us.

Visit the imperial palace, free tours in english on Saturdays at 9amish. Fish Market for the hell of it. Tokyo Sky tree gets you some nice views. Umm avoid the Tokyo metro lines between the times of 6am to 10am, 430pm to 8pm, well the Tozai and Ginza lines at least.

Had some "A class" tempura in Shinjuku courtesy of a family friend. Confirmed local food can be amazing.

... What?

Went to Golden Gai. Disappointing lack of karaoke, and since I don't drink, wasn't much reason to stick around. Also in the same area many super sketch Nigerians all gave me the exact same line "brother, give me some love!". Sorry, but I'm not interested in what you are selling. Ate some delicious Street kebab, which leads me to ask, where the hell are the trash cans in Tokyo? I'm carrying the empty container back to the hotel because I literally cannot find a public trash can. Also, the homeless in Shinjuku seem to have all adapted a single standard for the use of cardboard boxes?

Oh, I also wandered into a Mister Donut and are that donut.

And I went to the Ueno zoo in the morning.
