It's too early to make a LTTP so I'd say go for it!

Thanks! I'll keep mentally taking notes on what I want to say about the game then. On reflection the game is becoming one of my favorites; not the favorite but, unlike some, one I can look over the faults and see the greatness inside that makes it special to me. Though, with Persona 5 and Mario Odyssey still to come it's still not a surefire GOTY for me. This year is crazy in terms of quality.

completed the rito and zora dungeons, and now i can't decide which one to do next, lol. i've been running around doing side quests, upgrading armor, hearts, etc in the meantime. should i do rudania or naboris next?

i've also decided i'm gonna complete every shrine before i take on hyrule castle. just doesn't seem right to do it without the tunic of the wild. i did sneak in to get the hylian shield though

So I finally beat my first dungeon boss, Waterblight GanonWow, what a great experience. Loved the fight, reminded me of a Dark Souls or Bloodborne boss.

Might have been posted before, but man do I love the systemic freedom in this game.
A true gameplay sandbox. It's a creative way of solving a puzzle differently, in case you're super spoiler sensitive.

Only problem; I want to talk about general spoilers but it won't really be about said spoilers. I'll mainly be stuff like dungeon names, cool moments and more so I think a simple warning at the top of the post should do.

There are so much bittersweet side stories in this game. The one in Kakariko is my favorite.

Seemingly everyday, one of the kids in Kakariko village goes the graves in the back to cry by herself because she doesn't want to upset her dad by letting him know that she knows her mom is dead instead of just somewhere else.

I discovered that by accident and it broke my heart. I only did the first "food" quest with her earlier which seemed super cute and innocent. Running into her in the graveyard totally put it in another context. It gets deeper when you finish all of her food quests as well as when you find out how the mom died. The younger daughter can be found near the shrine on the hill every morning looking for her mom.

I have a question regarding the home owner quest line.

I bought the house and a a few pieces of furniture etc. but then I completed the Taburasa quest line. Now the home designer is nowhere to be seen anymore in Hateno. Where can I find him?

Hmm... as long as it's daytime they should be chilling in front by the fire place. They go to sleep at night though.

Definitely agree with you there and also for me personally it surpassed Ocarina of Time and Bloodborne. At the moment I'd rank Breath of the Wild my #3 favorite game of all time but I also still haven't finished it.

And yes, this game is not about just going to point A to B especially if you want to uncover some secrets/quests, you will have to pay attention to npcs and stuff you read (that's why I will never understand the rant about fetch quests, they're overrated compared to korok seeds puzzles, lol)

Super fuckin neat those options. I almost went with the torch myself but I couldn't get it across the water (before I decided to go around) and I was worried it would break.

How do you do the old man quest for the cloth? I talked to him jear his house but he only taught me about cutting down trees.

Yeah, at this point, if someone wanders into a BOTW thread (especially this one) and goes off because they see a dungeon or town name, maybe they need to just play the damn game and avoid online forums for a while. :) I got several things "spoiled" before I got to them, but it didn't diminish their impact since they were of such high quality, and the context surrounding them also made a huge difference. Even clicking on spoilered comments and seeing stuff I haven't yet experienced doesn't really matter since odds are I won't remember specifically what I read by the time I reach them.

He stays in Tarry Town (I assume this is Taburasa for you?) after the wedding until you talk to him again.

Yeah I think the biggest flaw in the game so far (by a huge margin in my opinion). 20 hours in, was the lack of a proper cooking tutorial. Maybe I missed it?

The other kid always references that his mom is playing hide and seek and he'll find her eventually. You can play games with him to pass the time. He's the brother of the kid who visits the graves.

The game makes me enjoy visiting the towns and villages. They did a great job with the characters.

The Firefly quest in Kakariko was nice too. Such simple things to bring people joy.

I don't think there is ever one that outright tells you what to do via the menu like the ones for parrying or gliding but there are a few NPCs that explain it. There's a hut with a diary in the Great Plateau that tasks you with cooking cold resist food but you can completely miss it.

That said, there's not much to cooking. It's fairly free form and based on what the ingredients say outside of a few strict recipes.

Is Pika go in any other village than Kakoriko?

I just traveled to every single stable I've found and still have two more pictures to go. I found three more stables along the way but no sign of the dude.

Knocked 10 pictures out like it was nothing and now I'm clueless.

Went into Hyrule Castle to grab the royal weapons and recipes and it looks like it's just as big as disappointment as the shrines and dungeons. Looks like you can't even cut loose with the damn Master Sword in there and all the secret stuff can be picked up one straightforward path. Hopefully I'm wrong and when I go back and it's actually got something interesting to do in there.

Just finished the main story and beat Ganon. The final battle was hilariously clumsy on my part, and I managed to run out of meals so Link had to eat a ton of apples throughout the fight. Incredible game overall and my favourite since Bloodborne. Definitely the best open world I've experienced. I didn't really touch most of the sidequests (despite exploring a lot) so I'll definitely go back to BotW in the future.

Played close to 25hrs, done zero story missions after completing the great plateau, but now I've decided to progress and finally made it to Kakariko Village

I also just found out about the parry thing you do where you hold down the shoulder button to bring up your shield, then hit A...... I was like woah!

I was just exploring, doing shrines, collected stuff etc.

I can play for, at maximum, an hour a day.

so basically I've found my first memory and reported back to kakariko village. Now my main quests are just to find all memories and to kill all 4 guardians. I found a man in hateno village you mentioned gerudo and some other place, am I supposed to go there next?
