People love their "hot takes" of new popular things.
ya'll saying Force Awakens are crazy
This, Sucker Punch, and Dark City. What a piece of crap.
TDKR I found also fairly enjoyable the first time through, it was just after it was over that my brain started going 'Waitaminute'
Yep. These two stung
At least tdkr had a really nice ending though. Prometheus had nothing brehs :(
Prometheus was just so dumb that even turning my brain off didn't work.
Age of Ultron is a decent pick as mentioned earlier - I enjoyed the movie, so not a pick for me, but the trailer made it seem like it'd be a lot more philosophical/heady than it was.
Not as big a quality plummet as some of the blockbusters in here for sure, but thats what it is for me
Suicide Squad is the worst movie I've seen in a very long time...and the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer is the best trailer I've seen this decade.
i was kind of disappointed the first time I saw it too. The soundtrack and tone of the movie was pretty somber compared to the first, plus the showdown with bill wasn't what I was expecting.
Kill Bill volume 2
A movie has never let me down as much as that one did. Years later I would come to appreciate it, and now I actually love it and think it's one of QT's best, but boy was I bummed the first time I saw it.
It's just a lame reboot of Star Wars, without calling it a reboot. I was hoping for a new story, not a re-hash of A New Hope, and a poorly done one at that. At least it was better than TPM. TFA wasn't a shock of a letdown though, I pretty much gathered it was a rehash of ANH from the trailers.
Before that, probably the shitty terrible new Trek movies. Awful.
Man of Steel
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is a close second. It looked like it would be more of what I liked about Pirates 2, but it felt completely off compared to the first two movies. Plus, the fight scene between Jack and Davy Jones ended up sucking hard without any awesome music to back it up.
Edit: Yeah, X-Men 3 is a good candidate, too.
dumbass song wasn't even in the movie.
Every generation has a legend...Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Every journey has a first step...
Every saga has a beginning...
Look at that trailer. Star Wars was returning! And we'd get to see the origin of Darth Vader! And it was going to be so very awesome! How could it not? It was a NEW Star Wars movie!
That trailer was an event. People would go to the movies to see that trailer and leave before the movie started. You could actually download it in potato cam format and watch it at home! There is no bigger trailer than Star Wars Episode I. There may be worse movies to have good trailers, but in sheer trailer hype, you cannot beat it, probably ever. And then we got Jar Jar. And politics. And creepy Yoda. Even if Episode 1 had been good, it would never have lived up to its trailer hype. Nothing short of utterly amazing would have done that.
Runner up would be the recent string of dc movies. All are so terrible. I expect justice league to be bad. I guess it's the transformers syndrome kicking in. Thanks Michael bay
It's a way of shouting down opposing viewpoints in this case.
Out with this nonsense, not living up to someones expectations on something you happen to love isn't a hot take, whatever that's supposed to mean.
In most cases, it's someone making a ill informed statement, usually immediately after the point with no time taken to reflect.
I think a year and a half is sufficient time to have formed an opinion of TFA.
